Rotten Boy

Documentary about the life and thoughts of José Rodrigues Mao Jr, historian, professor, unionist, songwriter and singer of the punk band Garotos Podres - historical reference of the punk rock scene in Brazil.

“Rotten Boy” shows the intersections between the historian and unionist Mao with his punk image. We see how his History classes are extended in his concerts in which, on stage, he talks about revolutions and antifascist movements. The documentary also contextualizes the story of Garotos Podres intrinsically with the political history of Brazil.
